So school has started up again. Some are excited, others not so. Me, I'm undecided. It's nice to be back and seeing everyone again. But it's also a little weird being a senior, without that class ahead of us that we've been so used to. Besides all that, my schedule is pretty sweet:
Period 1: Intro. to Technical Drawing - an easy class taught by Manzo. His philosophy is that as long as you're working at your own pace and what you're producing is correct, then you get an A. Everything you need for the class is in the room so I don't even need to bring my backpack.
Period 2: Independent Study Music - a good solid 40-minute practice period with a rotating lesson schedule for the seven of us. Every other Friday is performance hour where everyone performs what they've been working on to get used to doing audition-like performances. They're open to all faculty so guidance, Mr. Veit (the new supervisor who's pretty cool), Bersano, and others come to watch and listen. It's good because not only do we get that experience, but our personal repertoire gets exploded, which is always helpful.
Period 3: Calculus AP - a nice class with Kliewe. He's very into his teaching, which makes understanding the topics very doable. I like his teaching style and, so far, what we're working on. For now it's not too hard, but I'm sure it'll get harder.
Period 4: I had study hall, but B pulled me out of that so I could have study in the band room in order to practice bassoon, talk, help him get stuff done, and have informal independent study with Romains once a week, and sometimes with B. That's the second period in the day that I'm in the band room.
Period 5: English IV AP - your typical English class with Martin. It's okay for now. There's not really much to say about that class.
Period 6: Lunch - in the band room. Look at that, I'm in here again, that's three times already. Plus I have a car so we might go out for lunch every once in a while. YAY!
Period 7: Gym - with Mr. McRory. He's very laid back, it's really nice. The second day he goes: alright, so Mr. Lio was the football coach here years ago, so he's really into fitness and all that. Since you're seniors and there is no other class in here, we're gonna skip as many of those as possible and just have fun. Every once in a while I might get observed so I'll tell you to go sit in your spots, but for the most part just kind of gather in here and then we'll stretch real quick and get outside. AWESOME!!!
Period 8: French V AP - a nice class with Karpinska. Vocab quizzes are going to be insane, but for now French class is still remotely enjoyable. Nowhere near as fun as last year though. There aren't any dialogues or anything, it's a lot of reading. Not as fun.
Period 9: In the band room again (fourth time today!) for, that's right, BAND. It's not as good as last year, and I'm already sick of the marching band music. It's probably because I've been listening to it since June rewriting the pit parts. And because Cabs and marching band overlapped so it was like one large, massive, never-ending season of death. B had me show Gina how to print parts in Sibelius so that when I leave he's not devastated because she can do everything, and she was supposed to take over because she's "band librarian," except of course every time something needed to be done Sibelius wise he came running back to me. Figures, hehe.
So that's my nice senior schedule. It leaves me plenty of time to get music done so that when I get home I can finally start working on applications and getting around to actually looking at the colleges and meeting the professors. Now I need to go do my homework and start studying mad French vocab and work on stuff for Romains and colleges and lots of other stuff. Talk to you all later.

- Haha, I'm with Nao on this. Although our senior schedules pay/paid off in our own way while yours pays off in your own way. I should try to get out of a study hall some Friday, maybe "go to the bathroom," but we have Ms. Wilson, a math teacher who's a real stickler for the rules.
- I have second period study on Thursdays, Fridays, and alternate Wednesdays. So I would be able to see you during independent study.

I wish I had a senior schedule like this...
